Workplace Wellness Programs

 

The cost of poor health on personal and professional productivity is high. And includes stress, absenteeism, low morale, low productivity, poor concentration and focus, low output, and disruption of other workers.

 

While many of these are difficult to evaluate stress alone cost the economy billions of dollars. Stress is directly linked to numerous medical conditions such as hypertension, asthma, chronic pain, allergies and others, which can account for significant job absenteeism. Stress is the cause of approximately 15-23% of all cases of absenteeism in the US.

 

Many studies have shown the benefit of workplace wellness programs in the workplace on improved organizational productivity and increased profitability. Excessive weight contributes to increased absenteeism and as well as lost productivity during work and costs Australian business billions of dollars each year. Increased weight contributes to lost productivity, increased stress lower self esteem and motivation, as well as many other forms of presenteeism. Individual companies lose millions of dollars each year and the problem is not going away. Australia has an obesity epidemic which will only get worse unless we do something about it. Dr D uses the science of weight loss to help people change their lives. It is not a fad diet but a lifestyle change that will help people lose weight and regain their energy and self esteem. The program is based around goals and focuses on nutrition not calories. This is then reinforced with many cognitive behavioural techniques including hypnosis, the most powerful tool for personal change. Dr D is a practicing group hypnotherapist.

Becoming a non-smoker

 

Smoking costs businesses thousands of dollars each year in lost productivity. Including time off smoking, poor concentration and focus and increased illness both during work and days off. These costs can add up to 10% of an employees wage, a significant cost to any employer.

 

Our Becoming a non-smoker program uses a combination of cognitive behavioural therapies which have all been proven to change peoples behaviour. Instead of using just one and hoping it might work this program combines the most effective CBT to provide the most effective outcome. Your employees being non smokers.

 

Hypnosis alone is estimated to be around 70%. However, used in combination with the other techniques it is around 97% effective. In addition to hypnosis this program uses the other proven techniques, including goals, visualisation, cognitive reframing, affirmations and more to firm up the commitment to be a non smoker. The program also uses some of the results from Dr Dingles’ university based research on group work and life coaching. We also provide you with the information and support on healthy nutrition to give up smoking to help replace some of the nutrients lost as a result of smoking and to help you maintain a healthy weight. As some people fear putting on weight once they stop smoking. This is not the case in our program.

 

Dr Dingle has been involved in research for many years now on how to change peoples’ behaviour and is now confident he has the best approach based on practice and science.

 

This usually runs as a 3 week program.

 

Dr Dingle has been a director on the Australian Council on Smoking and Health, published scientific papers on the topic, written a state government report on Smoking, researched how to change peoples behaviour over the last 20 years and is a practicing group hypnotherapist.
